THE Barbarians’ historic double header at Thomond Park on Friday, November 10 will be available for a global online TV audience to view for free.
The first-ever outing for the Barbarians women’s team is against Munster Women at 16:45 GMT and the Barbarians then take on Tonga at 19:30.
Both games are being broadcast exclusively live via Pundit Arena at www.punditarena.com/tv
Match presentation is led by Nick Heath as lead commentator alongside Niamh Briggs for the women’s match and Isaac Boss for the Tonga match.
The debut of the Barbarians women’s team is a big first for the club and a squad containing more than 1,000 international caps includes players from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Canada, New Zealand and Sweden.
The Barbarians v Tonga match is a chance to see the Baa-baas build on their thriller against New Zealand last weekend, when famous invitation side went down 31-22 to the double World Champions.
For England fans this is the first chance to run the rule over World Cup rivals Tonga – the Islanders are England’s first tournament opponents in Sapporo on September 22, 2019.
Richard Barrett, Pundit Arena co-founder and COO, emphasised the importance of providing unique content to their fans, the largest social media following of its kind in the rugby world.
Barrett said: “This is an exciting move for our company, and one that we have no doubt will be a major success. We’re built on providing unique, quality content and the Barbarians double-header certainly fits this bill.
“Ensuring this historic first Barbarians women’s match is broadcast free-to-air is a vital step to continue the exposure of the women’s game as it continues to go from strength to strength. We’re four years old as a company, and this is a major statement of our intent to continue to expand.”
