Alexander Cecil Pedlow
Alexander Cecil Pedlow was born in Lurgan, County Armagh, on 20 January 1934 and educated at Campbell College, Belfast, and Queen's University. He worked as a dentist in Belfast and played for the CIYMS club. After a try-scoring international debut as a 19-year-old against Wales in 1953, he went on to win 30 caps for Ireland at wing and centre and scored 31 points. In 1955 he toured South Africa with the British Isles, playing in 13 matches, including two tests, and scoring 58 points. Cecil Pedlow's 12 games for the Barbarians included four Easter tours to Wales and the pioneering tour to South Africa in 1958. He also captained the Barbarians in the 1958 Mobbs Memorial Match.
