Alun David Lewis

Alun David Lewis was born in Caerphilly on 15 January 1956 and educated at Caerphilly Grammar Technical School and Cambridge University where he read medicine. He gained Blues in 1975 and 1976 and represented the University against Japan in 1976. He played club rugby at scrum-half for Bedford, including the victory over Rosslyn Park in 1975 to win the RFU's Cup Competition, and London Welsh. Though he did not gain a full international cap for Wales, he joined the 1977 British Isles' tour of New Zealand as a replacement and played in three matches including the final fixture against Fiji. In December 1978 Alun Lewis captained Wales B against France B.
