Justin Warren Marshall

Justin Warren Marshall was born in Mataura on 5 August 1973 and educated at Gore High School. Originally a scrum-half for Southland he moved to Canterbury and played for them in the NPC and the Crusaders in Super Rugby. He scored 28 tries in 88 matches for the All Blacks, including 24 in 81 tests between 1995 and 2005 when he became New Zealand's most-capped back. He also was captain in five matches (four tests). Justin Marshall also captained the Barbarians against New Zealand at Twickenham in 2004. He later played in Europe for Leeds Tykes, Ospreys, Montpellier and, briefly, Saracens before retiring in 2010 to begin a successful career in sports' broadcasting.
